1.Our Cotswold Shop
Hamptons Hampers and the on line fine food shop is featured in Rick Stein’s book “Guide to the Food Heroes of Great Britain”- which is testimony to the quality of the food and service which we provide.
We stock about 150 different cheeses, both British and continental (many imported from small producers in France). There is a bewildering choice of preserves, chutneys, pickles, pâtés, olives, honeys, jellies, chocolates, meringues, local hams, salamis, locally raised pies, smoked salmon, smoked trout, smoked duck, olive oils and much besides.
A significant proportion of sales are from our kitchen, which is on site. We make amongst other things, cakes (our ginger and walnut cake is legendary), quiches, pâtés, French bread and baguette sandwiches.
2.Our History
The business is family run, the directors being Richard and Claire Bufton. Richard read Hotel Management at what is now Gloucestershire University before buying the Hamptons business in 1988. So when you buy Hamptons Hampers and Fine Foods from the On Line shop you get the dedication of the owners.
Hamptons is a well-established retailer of fine, distinctive gourmet food hampers and fine foods and is located in Digbeth Street just off the main Square in historic Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds. We endeavour to bring a wide range of quality foods to discerning customers living in or visiting the Cotswolds and increasingly the rest of the UK. The shelves are packed with exclusive and delicious fine foods that one would not normally find in the mass outlets. The individual foods sold in the "real"shop may be bought in our On-line Fine Food Shop
